On December 7, 2009, the first day of the crucial UN Copenhagen Climate Change Conference, Greenpeace Canada climb teams unfurled large banners on the south wall of the west block of the Canadian parliament buildings that read, “Harper/Ignatieff: Climate Inaction Costs Lives“. A team of 5 that I (Glenn) volunteered to participate with put up a smaller tar sands banner above the entrance on the east wing of the main block. National press ensued.
I was honoured to have been involved with so many extraordinary people. They all deserve to be commended for their astounding dedication, preparation, implementation; for the risks undertaken; and for the individual sacrifices made in order to carry out this essential action.
