ecoSanity Climate Emergency Campaign update – Global Rally to Stop Global Warming, Toronto

Dec. 7, 2008 — ecoSanity.org attended the Global Rally to Stop Global Warming at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto, Canada.  Timed to coincide with U.N. Climate Change Conference in Poznań, Poland, and organized by the Toronto Climate Campaign, the Toronto rally was part of a Global Weekend of Climate Action with mobilizations in cities across Canada and in more than 70 countries worldwide.

ecoSanity.org continued its Climate Emergency Campaign call for all environmental and social justice organizations worldwide to officially declare a state of global climate emergency NOW!

Accompanied by our spectacular volunteers who braved 50 km winds and a -21 C windchill (also known as climate extreming), an epic Climate Emergency banner was backdrop to an inflated planet Earth on a pillowed stretcher, dressed with a giant band-aid.  Mercury, our penguin mascot, danced and mugged for cameras in an all-too-revealing hospital smock, gauze, bandages and neck brace.
